Pause Button Not Showing: Causes and Fixes for Piso WiFi

Answer first: A missing Pause button usually means pause is disabled by the owner, enabled for a different payment mode, hidden by a cached page, already used up, or the session has expired. Check a fresh portal page first, then ask the operator whether pause is enabled for how you paid.

You paid for a session, you want to pause, and there is no Pause button on the portal screen. This post is a diagnostic guide for that exact problem. It does not repeat the general pause steps from the Pause Time pillar. It starts from the missing button and works through the causes in the order you should check them.

A missing button is rarely a broken phone. It is usually a setting, a payment mode difference, a cached page, a limit that has already been reached, or a session that has already expired. Checking in order saves you from paying again for a problem that a setting change or a fresh page would fix.

First, Confirm You Are Looking at a Live Session Screen

Before you diagnose a setting, confirm that the screen you are looking at is live and belongs to your current session.

Rejoin the same WiFi network you paid on, turn mobile data and VPN off for a moment, and open http://10.0.0.1 in the address bar of a browser, using http rather than https. Do not rely on an old tab or a screenshot. Open the portal in a private or incognito window if the normal window looks unchanged after a refresh. A cached page can show an old session screen without a Pause button, even after the operator has enabled pause.

Check that the portal shows your session as active, with time remaining. If it shows no session, or a session with no time left, the problem is not a hidden button. It is a missing or expired session, and the Resume post and the Session Expired While Paused post are the right next reads.

Cause 1: The Owner Has Disabled Pause

Pause is an owner controlled feature. Customers cannot enable it from the portal. If the owner has turned pause off in the admin panel, no customer action will make a button appear.

How to recognise it: the portal works normally for browsing and payment, the timer counts down, but no Pause control appears for any payment mode, and other customers on the same machine report the same thing. If only your session lacks a button while another customer on the same machine sees one, the cause is more likely a payment mode difference or a session problem, covered below.

What to do: ask the operator whether pause is enabled on that machine, and if so, for which payment modes. If pause is disabled, your lawful options are the ones in the Pause Time pillar: pay in smaller amounts to limit loss if you must leave, use a voucher that can be redeemed later where the machine supports redemption timing, or ask the operator to pause the session from the admin panel where the platform allows it. Do not try to force a button with a third party tool. No official platform feature list checked for this post describes a safe customer side method to enable pause on a machine where the owner has disabled it.

Cause 2: Coin Mode Versus Voucher Mode Toggle

Many builds let the owner enable pause for coin sessions and voucher sessions separately. That means a machine can show a Pause button for coin payments and hide it for voucher payments, or the reverse, even though pause is technically enabled.

How to recognise it: you paid by voucher and see no button, while a coin customer sees one, or the reverse. The portal may also show different controls depending on how you paid, because the session type changes which toggles apply.

What to do: note how you paid, and ask the operator which mode has pause enabled on that machine. If you have not yet paid for your next session and you need pause, choose the payment mode that has pause enabled, if the operator confirms it. If you have already paid by the mode without pause, do not pay again immediately to test the other mode. Ask the operator first whether the current session can be paused from the admin panel, or whether a small test payment in the other mode is worth it for future sessions.

For owners, this is a common support trap. Test pause for both coin and voucher payments after every setting change, and advertise on a sign which payment modes include pause. A sign that says pause is available, without saying for which payment mode, will generate exactly this complaint.

Cause 3: Stale Cache, Wrong Page, or Wrong Network

A stale browser cache is the most fixable cause, and it is worth ruling out early.

Check these in order:

  1. Confirm the WiFi network name matches the machine you paid on. A similarly named network nearby is not the same machine.
  2. Turn off mobile data and VPN, then open http://10.0.0.1 in the address bar, not the search box.
  3. Refresh the portal page. If nothing changes, open it in a private or incognito window, which bypasses most cached copies.
  4. Clear the browser cache for that site only if a private window shows a different, correct screen, and you are comfortable doing so. Do not clear all passwords or all site data just to fix a portal page.
  5. Try a different browser on the same device before trying a different device. A different device will not match your session, as explained in the Resume post, so a different browser on the same device is the safer test.

If a private window shows a Pause button that the normal window did not, the problem was a cached page, not a setting. Use the private window for that session, and refresh the normal window before your next payment.

Cause 4: Pause Limit Already Reached

On count based systems, especially AdoPiSoft, a missing button can mean you have used up your allowed pauses for that session, not that pause was never enabled. On duration based systems, a button can also disappear after a pause limit or session expiry has passed, because there is no valid paused session left to resume or pause again.

How to recognise it: the button was visible earlier in the same session, then vanished after one or more pauses, or after a long break. The portal may still show a session, but with little or no time left, or with a status that no longer allows pause.

What to do: check the portal timer and session status on a fresh page. If time remains but the button is gone after several pauses, ask the operator how many pauses your session includes, and whether short pauses count the same as long pauses. The Pause Time Limit post explains count versus duration limits in detail. If the session has expired, a new payment is needed for further use, and the Session Expired While Paused post covers prevention for next time.

For owners, a button that vanishes without explanation is a support problem. Advertise the pause count or duration limit plainly, so users do not interpret a reached limit as a broken machine.

Cause 5: Session Already Expired, Replaced, or Moved

A new payment can create a new session and hide the old one. A device change can break the session match. A power cut or reboot can clear a local session. In each case, the portal screen you see may belong to a different session state than the one you expected, and that screen may not show a Pause button.

How to recognise it: you paid again, switched devices, changed a WiFi setting mid session, or experienced a power cut, and the button disappeared after that event. The portal may show a new empty session, a session with no time, or no session at all.

What to do: stop and diagnose before paying again. Confirm the device, the network, and a fresh portal page, as in the first section. Ask the operator to check the session list for your original device and payment time. If the original session is listed and still valid, the operator may be able to pause it from the admin panel on platforms that support that action. If it is listed as expired or not listed at all, the session is usually not recoverable, and the Session Expired While Paused post gives the proof checklist to show the operator.

Cause 6: Platform, Firmware, or Build Differences

Pause labels and availability vary by platform and by firmware version. JuanFi builds vary the most, because each operator configures the hotspot script. Ruijie and SmartFi setups with auto pause may not show a manual Pause button at all, because pausing happens automatically on disconnect. PisoFi desktop timers in a computer shop may behave differently from PisoFi WiFi portals on the same system.

How to recognise it: the operator says pause should work, but no button appears on any device, or the portal uses labels you do not recognise. A recent firmware update is another clue, because updates can rename menus or reset settings.

What to do: ask the operator which platform and build the machine uses, whether pause is manual or automatic on that build, and whether a recent update changed the portal. For auto pause systems, check the portal after a disconnect and reconnect to see whether the timer paused on its own, rather than looking for a manual button that the build does not use. For owners, test pause after every firmware update, for both payment modes, before advertising it to customers.

What Owners Should Check, in Order

Owners reading this post for support should check the admin panel in this order, rather than changing several settings at once:

  1. Is pause enabled at all, for the payment mode in question?
  2. Is the pause limit, duration or count, set to a value that allows a pause for a normal break?
  3. Has a recent firmware update reset pause settings or renamed the menu?
  4. Does a test payment as a customer, in each payment mode, show the button, stop the timer, and resume correctly?
  5. Is the limit advertised on a sign near the machine, including which payment modes include pause?

Changing a rate, a WiFi name, or a voucher setting while looking for pause can break customer sessions, so change one setting at a time and test as a customer after each change. Full panel steps are in the Admin Login guide, which is linked at the end of this post.

Frequently Asked Questions About a Missing Pause Button

Why does the Pause button appear on my friend’s phone but not on mine, on the same machine?

In most cases, the two phones are not looking at the same session. Your friend may have a different payment mode, a different session state, or a fresh portal page, while your page is cached or your session has already used its pauses or expired. Check a fresh portal page on your original device, confirm how each of you paid, and compare session status before assuming the machine treats phones differently.

I paid by voucher and there is no Pause button. Is voucher pause impossible?

No, it is not impossible in general, but it depends on the machine. Some builds enable pause for coin sessions only, some for voucher sessions only, and some for both. Ask the operator which mode has pause enabled on that machine. The Voucher guide gives the full voucher rules, including redemption timing, which can be an alternative way to control when a timer starts.

The button disappeared after I updated my phone. Did the update break pause?

A phone update alone does not disable pause on the machine, but it can change a WiFi setting, such as a private address setting, or it can leave a cached portal page that no longer matches the live session. Open a fresh portal page in a private window on the same device, check the network name, and ask the operator whether the machine settings changed at the same time.

Can I use an app to add a Pause button if the portal does not show one?

No safe method is described in any official platform feature list checked for this post. Pause is a portal and admin feature. Third party apps that promise to unlock pause, extend time, or bypass a limit should be treated as unsafe, and this site does not recommend them. The Safety Guide and the Piso WiFi Apps post explain fake app risks in detail.

Should I keep paying small amounts to test whether the button appears?

A single small test payment can be useful if the operator confirms that pause should work for that payment mode, and you want to check it for a future session. Do not keep feeding coins into a machine to test a button on a session that has already expired or already used its pauses, because each new payment creates a new session and can hide the original problem. Ask the operator to check the session list first.

If the Page Refreshes or Never Finishes Loading

A missing pause button is not always a disabled setting. If the portal refreshes in a loop, or never finishes loading, the pause button may never appear, even though pause is enabled. Clear the browser cache and try a fresh incognito page, check https forcing, and confirm the gateway field on your own device, because some builds use a variant such as 10.10.0.1. If the page still loops, or if other customers see the same loop, report it as a portal loading problem, not only as a missing button, so the operator checks the machine, the access point, and any IP conflict, rather than only the pause toggle.

If your session has already expired, read the Session Expired While Paused post. If you need to resume a valid paused session, read the How to Resume post. If you need to understand duration, count, and validity limits, read the Pause Time Limit post. If the portal will not load at all, read the Troubleshooting guide. If you are an owner, read the Admin Login guide for full panel steps, and the Pause Time pillar for general pause rules.
